Limescale for your home? 100% Guaranteed

Limescale / Water hardness is a very common problem in Ireland that most homeowners face. Hard water contains a high amount of dissolved calcium and magnesium which cause limescale build-up on hot water appliances such as electric kettles, washing machines, dishwashers, showers, and boilers.
Research has proven that hard water also leads to skin irritation, dry skin, hair fall, and dull hair.

At One Eight Filtration we have a range of hard water softeners for you to choose from – we can specify the correct softener for your needs where we can guarantee 100% limescale removal.

Standard, Silver & Gold Water Softeners

The Standard, Silver and Gold Water Softeners are premium water softeners used for protection against limescale. These softeners will prevent limescale build-up on surfaces and protect against scaling on water heaters/elements. The Standard Softener can be installed in a kitchen cabinet and is suitable for a 1-4 person house. The Silver and Gold Water Softeners are suitable for up to a 6 person household.  Very little maintenance is required.

The removal of lime/hardness has several benefits.

By removing the existing scale within your heating system and preventing it from re-occurring, water softeners reduce the amount of fuel used to heat the hot water.

Softeners will over time remove all existing scale from within all the household pipes and appliances and on surfaces such as showers and baths. You will not need to replace them as soon as you would if you had the effects of hard water.  It will also prevent scale build-up from re-occurring.

The benefits of soft water on skin and hair are undeniable.  Customers have reported that their dry scalp has disappeared completely since the installation.  Research shows eczema and other skin conditions caused by the drying of skin by hard water may be alleviated.  The suggestion is that soft water is better to wash with, and therefore needs less soap or detergent, clear irritants for people with eczema.  Your shampoo will lather up easily when washing your hair and will leave your hair soft, shiny and manageable. No more flaky scalp! Even better, you will enjoy softer skin.

You can banish clogged up shower heads, no more sticking toothpicks in the holes or soaking them in vinegar every month.

Your shower screen will not need strong harmful chemicals to get it only half clean.  With softened water, it sparkles like new with only a wipe over.

Your washing will feel softer, cleaner, whites stay whiter and you will extend the life of fabric by up to 20%.  You will use less detergent – fact.

No more cleaning limescale with a lemon, you will not have soap scum marks in sinks or spot marks on your taps, and you can use a lot fewer cleaning products.  This saves you time, money and effort, plus it also helps to make your home more friendly to the environment.

For a better shave try softened water.  Razor blades last longer and the quality of the shave is second to none.

Studies show that water softening can save a 4-person household an average of €200 per year.
As well as saving on washing powder or detergent, you also save considerable amounts of money on all the other cleaning products used, such as kitchen and bathroom cleaners, shower cleaners, scale removers, floor cleaners, whilst looking after our environment.  Your boiler and heating system, plumbing, hot water cylinder, washing machine, dish washer, water heater will all run more efficiently and their life expectancy will be extended by 10%, it all adds up!

An outside tap on softened water for washing the car makes it quick and easy as you do not have to leather it off afterwards – soft water is used by most valet companies.

Installing a water softener will also help save the environment.  The excessive amounts of chemicals used in our cleaning products mostly go down the drain.  By reducing this substantially you will help save our streams and rivers from the ravages of chemical degradation.

There are two specific situations where the use and drinking of softened water are inadvisable.

These are:

  • In the reconstitution of infant formula powders, softened water could affect its fine nutritional balance.
  • For anyone on a medically prescribed low sodium diet.
