The replacement filter a stringwound filter made from polypropylenecord.

1. The filtration rating depends on winding pattern and thread tension. So the more dense is the pattern, the smaller size of the particles it is able to retain.
2. The filters  purify water of sediment particles such as rust, sand, scale, silt, etc
